Types of CCTV systems we install
We supply and install a wide range of CCTV systems to suit your specific requirements and budget. Systems are available for both domestic and commercial applications. A number of control options are also available including remote control and monitoring from your smartphone. Please see below for more information about the types of CCTV systems we install.
A basic system provides protection for the exterior and interior of your home. Systems can range in size and complexity from a single camera up to a network of eight cameras. Each camera is connected to a central management system which typically has enough storage for approximately two weeks of footage. This should be enough to cover a typical two-week family vacation.
Basic systems are hard-wired which increases reliability and simplifies maintenance. However, the upfront installation costs of hard-wired systems are typically more expensive than wireless systems. The installation process is also much more disruptive, involving the drilling of holes and the channelling of wires.
Wireless systems offer many advantages over basic hard-wired systems. There is greater flexibility in the positioning of the cameras. The cameras don’t have to be hard wired which reduces installation costs. And there are no unsightly wires cluttering up your home. Wireless systems can also be controlled from your smartphone or tablet giving you access to your system from almost anywhere.
A typical wireless system contains four to eight cameras which are connected to a central storage and management console. As with a wired system, this contains enough storage for up to two weeks of footage, but more storage can be added if necessary. The camera quality varies but most systems come with 1080p HD cameras which are suitable for both interior and exterior use.
Integrated CCTV systems
Integrated systems are also available which can be connected to both alarm and security lighting systems to provide a complete home security suite. Comprehensive systems can be hard wired or wireless depending on your requirements. We typically recommend hard-wired systems for commercial applications and wireless for the home.
Comprehensive systems come complete with HD 1080p cameras capable of shooting footage at 20 frames per second. This allows high-quality footage to be collected which can be used to identify suspects. Night vision cameras can also be installed to provide increased protection at night. For added security, the system can also be connected to a speaker allowing you to communicate with trespassers or delivery people from your smartphone or tablet.
